Day by day itinerary
DAY 1: HANOI CITY TOUR (-/L/-)

Hanoi City Tour – Full Day Itinerary

08:00 – 08:30: Our tour guide and bus will pick you up from your hotel to start exploring Hanoi.

08:45: Visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, the final resting place of Vietnam’s beloved leader, Uncle Ho. See his embalmed body and stroll through the surrounding gardens, including the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969.

Next, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy – one of the most unique pagodas in the world.

10:15: Explore the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to learn about the cultures of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.

Special Note: If the Ethnology Museum is closed on Mondays, we will visit the Vietnamese Women’s Museum instead.

12:00: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

13:30: Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda on Golden Fish Island in West Lake – the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, dating back to the 6th century.

14:30: Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and a symbol of the nation’s dedication to education.

15:30: Visit Hoa Lo Prison, built by the French between 1886 and 1901 during the colonial period. Known as “Hell on Earth,” it now serves as a museum documenting Vietnam’s struggle against French colonization.

16:30: Return to your hotel by bus.

DAY2 : HANOI - SAPA - CAT CAT, SIN CHAI VILLAGE (B/L/-)

06:30: Our sleeper bus picks you up at 160 Tran Quang Khai Street, Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, and transfers you to Sapa.

13:00: Arrival in Sapa. Pick up from the bus office and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

14:30: Depart from the hotel and begin a 3 km walk to Cat Cat – Sin Chai Village, home of the H’mong people. This area, discovered during the French colonial era, was once a popular resort for officials in the early 20th century.

At Cat Cat Village, you will:

  • Visit the hydropower station and the Cat Cat waterfall

  • Learn about the local H’mong culture and customs

  • See traditional crafts such as weaving, silver carving, and hand-forged agricultural tools

After the visit, walk back to Sapa town (approx. 4 km).

Evening: Free time to relax and explore Sapa at your leisure.

Overnight: Stay at your hotel in Sapa.

DAY 3: SAPA - FANSIPAN PEAK - BACK TO HANOI (B/L/-)

Fansipan & Return to Hanoi – Itinerary

Morning: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and check out.

08:30 – 11:30 (approx.): Transfer by car (3 km) to the Fansipan Cable Car Station. Take the cable car to Fansipan Peak, the highest peak in Vietnam and Indochina. Explore the area, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views (weather permitting), visit the temple, and see the highest Buddha statue on the mountain. Return to the foot of the mountain via cable car.

12:00: Pick up from the foot of the mountain and drive back to the hotel.

12:30: Have lunch at a local restaurant.

14:30: Take a shuttle to the bus office and check in for your sleeper bus back to Hanoi.

21:00: Arrive in Hanoi and drop off at 160 Tran Quang Khai Street, Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem.

DAY 4: HANOI - HALONG BAY - OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE (B/L/D)

08:00 – 08:30: Pickup from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter and transfer to Tuan Chau Harbor.

12:15 – 13:00: From Tuan Chau Wharf, transfer to Calypso Cruise by small boat. Enjoy a welcome drink upon arrival, followed by a brief introduction and safety guidelines before check-in.

Lunch: Savour a delicious meal while cruising through the magnificent Ha Long Bay, admiring the stunning natural scenery. Cruise anchors in the Lan Ha Bay area.

15:00: Explore the hidden gems of the bay with a guide, including Dark and Bright Cave. Navigate through the cave to a mountain lake formed in a karst – known as the “Dragon Eye,” a favorite photo spot for visitors. Experience this either by sampan with a local rower or on your own kayak.

17:00: Return to Calypso Cruise for swimming—either in the sea or in the sundeck pool. Enjoy happy hour with discounted drinks while watching the sunset (weather permitting).

18:00: Join a cooking demonstration and food décor session with the chef.

19:00: Dinner at the Calypso Cruise restaurant.

20:30 – 22:00: Leisure time: relax on the sundeck, enjoy your cabin, watch movies, sing karaoke at the restaurant, or go squid fishing with cruise staff.

Overnight: Stay aboard Calypso Cruise in Lan Ha Bay.

DAY 5: HALONG BAY - HANOI (B/L/-)

06:00 – 06:30: Start the day with a breathtaking sunrise over the Legendary Gulf of Tonkin. Refresh your body and mind with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck.

06:30 – 07:30: Enjoy breakfast at the cruise restaurant.

07:30 – 08:45: Take a 20-minute bus ride on Cat Ba Island from Gia Luan Pier to Trung Trang Grotto, a remarkable site preserving millions of years of karst formations. Along the way, immerse yourself in the pristine natural scenery of Cat Ba National Park.

08:45 – 09:00: Return to Calypso Cruise for a shower.

09:30: Check out of your room.

09:30 – 10:30: Early lunch is served on board.

10:30 – 10:45: After settling any bills, a small boat transfers everyone to Tuan Chau Wharf.

11:15 – 11:30: Calypso Cruise ends at Tuan Chau Wharf.

Afterwards: Our driver transfers you back to your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter, arriving around 15:30.
